MORE ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm James Cameron Heron, a Durban-born creative with the passion and skills for photography, videography, as well as content creation. I am both a practical and creative thinker, and through the many mediums I enjoy, I love to both create and tell stories.
I am a sports fanatic, with the end goal of working in creative, adrenaline-filled environments which enable me to display my talents in content creation and leave my mark in sports storytelling.

Attending Stellenbosch University, I finished my BA Humanities undergraduate degree in 2020, with English and Visual Studies as my majors. Following those first three years, I completed my Honours degree in Journalism at Stellenbosch University.

After graduating from Stellenbosch, I immediately began my internship at Sport24. While at the Media24 news publication, I put my Honours degree to practice, through contacting sources, hosting interviews and writing stories about South Africa's sports professionals. Following my Sport24 internship, I worked as a freelance journalist for another News24 subsidiary, Ride24.

Following my time in journalism, I worked as an Assistant Photographer at Dentsu Creative, focusing on building my photographic muscle and studio experience.
Currently, I am working as a freelance sports photographer and videographer, whilst helping run and facilitate shoots at Buchanan Studios, a photography studio in Woodstock, Cape Town.
